Professional Pictures

Cami got her first photo shoot with a professional photographer on Tuesday. We took her in as a happy baby and she left a very unhappy baby. I guess it's a lot to ask of a 6 month old to pose for half an hour! Although she was not in the best of mood they still captured some fantastic pictures! When they brought the finished products out for us to see in frames (great selling tactic) tears filled my eyes! Cami looked so angelic and beautiful!!! I wanted to buy all of them. We compromised on these 5 shots, but it was so hard to choose.

Friends

Yay for friends! Cameron had a big play date yesterday with all of her friends. We try to get them together every so often so they can play and we can have an actual adult conversation :) The two older ones, Ben and Avery are 2 weeks apart and very close to 1 year old. Then Emma and Cameron are within a month apart at 6 and 7 months old.
We knew we would only have a matter of seconds to get a picture of all the babies before they all wanted down, and sure enough-we lost one. The little brown head that you see at the bottom is Gracie. She hangs out with Amy and Avery each day.
Emma is such a cute little social butterfly. It looks like she is putting her arm around Cameron for a good friendly picture. But, as you can see by Cameron's face she was not interested in taking a "friendly picture." This cracks me up.

Almost 6 Months

Cami had her first trip to the park today. I have been dying to put her in one of these baby swings and I finally found a park that had one. After I got over my initial paranoia of all the billions of germs she would be touching from getting in this swing I let loose and we had a great time. Plus, I remembered I had hand sanitizer in the diaper bag :)
I don't know if Cami liked the strings on her hat or the shadow from the equipment better. They were both equally interesting...not so much the swing. But, she will grow to love it!
The first trip down a slide....man, that slide was fast!
Here are a few random pictures I have taken over the month. Since I have not been blogging lately, I decided to add a few extra pictures.
Cami got this robe as a shower gift. Although I thought it was super cute when we got it, I now realize that a robe for a baby is not very practical. However, I don't want it to go to waste so we put her in it one night after bath time. She seemed to like it better than the typical wrapped up in a hooded towel! I thought it was too cute to not take a picture so I took like 15...crazy first time parent!
We started a nightly tradition of "naked time" (for Cami, not us) before we begin the bath. Here is a picture of the little sweet cheeks as she chills out watching Baby Einstein.
Cameron is now eating solids! She started with rice cereal which was not a hit. But, we quickly moved to oatmeal and she tolerated that. We have also tried carrots and prunes. It all depends on her mood whether the meal is a success or not. Happy baby! Cami is such a wonderful baby! Her little smile and big bright eyes just make my heart melt. Cami has been trying really hard to sit upright. She gets better and better each day. I don't think it will be long before she is sitting up without toppling over. If you look closely you will see her jammies are covered in drool....teething much!!! Cami fits perfectly in the sink in the bathroom. This is the kind of picture that I will look back on in 10 years and think "wow, you were so tiny...you even fit in the sink!!"

Christmas

Our family had a wonderful first Christmas with Cami! Although she is too young to care about presents and Santa we still had so much fun helping her open presents and watching her eat all the wrapping paper and bows. It's so true what they say...babies love the things presents come in more than the actual present! Cameron had a very busy week meeting lots of new relatives. After spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my family here in Dallas, we traveled down to Marble Falls to see Neal's side of the family. Cami was such a good baby as she was passed from new person to person. After the weekend, we came back to Dallas for Cameron to meet some of my side of the family. She was a hit. Everyone commented on her big cheeks and blue eyes. Click on the picture to see a slide show of all the Christmas pictures.

5 Months

Cameron is five months old now. I know I say this all the time, but she is growing so fast!!! We are amazed with how one day she just wakes up and is doing something all new that she never could do before. Her little personality is really evolving and we love what we see! She has her definite likes and dislikes and she lets it be known to everyone. She loves watching TV. So much so that I can't ever leave the TV on for even a minute, because it will distract her so much that she will not play. She just sits and stares...must be all the cool lights and new sights. We have a Skidamarink! I Love you book and on the last page is a picture of a little boy with a big red heart. Every time we read this book she smiles so big at the little boy. It is adorable to see she already has preferences!
She has mastered the art of rolling over from tummy to back. However, she is still working on rolling the other way. It's much harder and she tends to get stuck halfway and just lays on her side. I don't know if she really even wants to roll to her tummy, though. She loves laying on her back and grabbing her feet. It seems as if nothing could make her happier.
This little baby is truly our angel! She is such a dream come true. We are loving watching her grow and develop and can not wait to watch her go through each stage of her life. She makes life such a happier place!

I have feet!

Cameron has found a way to entertain herself without any toys...her feet! She usually just grabs them and rolls to her side as she holds them. But tonight she was actually putting her feet in her mouth. Oh, to be so flexible...

Mani/Pedi's

One of the few things that I WILL NOT do as a parent is clip nails. I am so afraid that I am going to hurt her by cutting her fingers or something so I refuse to do it. Therefore, Neal is Cameron's manicurist :) Here are some pictures of the super dad at work. Afterwards, Cami looks so happy and relieved to have trimmed nails...no more scratching herself as she sleeps....at least for another 3 days!

The Dube 5

Well, our blog name is "threedubes" but someone has pointed out to me that there are actually FIVE Dubes. Although I can not go back and change the name of our blogsite, I can show a little appreciation to our two "first borns." Molly:
We got Molly in October of 2003. She is a short haired miniature daschund. She was the smallest and cutest puppy we had ever seen and we fell in love with her instantly!
She was our first pet, our first "child", and possibly our first love....just kidding, Neal!
She has the funniest/quirkiest personality. She can be very playful when she wants to be, but she mostly just sits up on her "throne" and acts as queen bee. She likes to be close and will put her face on yours just so she can be close to you.
She also loves to be warm and HATES the cold. She will sleep under the covers with us each night and would wear a sweater year round if we would let her. She is such a wonderful dog I don't know what we would do without her...our first born!!!!
We love you Molly!!!!!
Maddie:
Neal got Maddie as a birthday present for me in August of 2006. He brought her home wrapped in a pink bow and I fell in love with her instantly, too. Maddie is a long haired miniature daschund.Maddie is quite a bit different than Molly. She is playful ALL the time. She is constantly bringing toys to us and putting them right in our hands to make it very easy for us to throw or, her favorite, play tug-of-war. She is the typical "little sister" to Molly, always wanting to be next to her and play with her.
Maddie is a little weight challenged, to put it nicely, and eats all of Molly's food. She is also very sneaky and clever as she thinks of ways to get food and toys away from Molly. Maddie also has a skittish side and gets very scared of noises (even leaves crinkling) as we go for walks. But she will also flip the skittish act once she sees another dog is safely on the other side of the street and bark at them as if she is unaware of her size.
Maddie is such a fun, happy, sweet dog. She can always put a smile on our face and we are so happy to have her in our little family!! We love you beary much, Maddie.

Merry Christmas

Here are some pictures I took of my 3 girls under the Christmas tree today. It was extremely hard to get the dogs to sit where I wanted, Cameron to be still, and all three of them to look at me at the same time. But I did get at least one good one of all three of them.
Molly is just being nosy and snooping around like she always does!!! Such a crazy dog!

Jump & Go

Cameron got an early Christmas present and we couldn't wait for her to open it. Actually, Neal wanted to wait, but I couldn't... I was too excited! It is a jump & go and it is so neat! It plays music and lights up each time she jumps which will help her get excited about jumping! I'm sure I will not be too thrilled about that feature once she actually gets going, but for now I love it!

Cameron has only "jumped" in it a couple of times but she seems to enjoy it and she loves looking at the lights. I don't think it will be long before she gets the hang of it and will be jumping like a little jumpin' bean! :) I know this one is a little blurry but she looked so happy as she was jumping so I tried to capture the moment!!

Christmas Jammies

Cami is all ready for Christmas! She is going to have such a great first Christmas. After sleeping almost through the night last night (woke up only 2 times for the paci, woo-hoo!) she woke up in a great mood! I took this picture of her this morning in her first pair of Christmas jammies. Unfortunately, last night was a different story! Apparently, she was not in the Christmas spirit before bed...she was way too tired to care about these jammies! Such a sad face :(

Get Me Out!

Cameron has learned a new trick...arching her back. These days she is very squirmy, which makes things much more dangerous. Changing her has become quite the task! Here are some pictures of her arching her back while in the bumbo...I think if she could talk she would say "take me out of this thing!"
