Spring is in the Air

We have been taking advantage of the nice weather lately and spending lots of time outside! Both Cami and Noah are so much happier when they are outdoors!

Everywhere!

I know I should not be surprised, but Noah is into everything!  Ever since he learned to crawl he has not been still!  He pulls up on to the couch, bathtub, chairs, the bed, anywhere he can reach.  He is just so proud of himself too!  His favorite things to get into are the doggie door (I need to get a picture of this), the dogs food and water bowl, the potted plant/tree in the house, and all cords!  No matter how well I think I have hidden a cord, Noah will find it and start chewing on it!  He is such a fun and happy baby, though.  I can't get upset because he is just too cute!

Catch Up

As usual, I have been behind on the blogging.  Not too much has happened to really share anyway.  But I will catch you up on the last couple of months.  We all had a nice Christmas.  Neal took almost 2 weeks off (this is unheard of for him!) and we enjoyed spending lots of time together!  We stayed in town for Christmas Eve and day and then traveled the day after Christmas to be with the Dube side of the family.  Cami loved spending tons of time with her cousins and  the rest of the family.  And Noah got his fair share of lovin' as well!  After a few days at the Dube house we came back to our own Dube house to celebrate the New Year.  Both kids stayed at Grammy and Papaw's house (first time for Noah) so Neal and I could have a whole night to ourselves!  It was quite lovely! Here are some Christmas pictures.  I actually had included several more but blogger is really bothering me lately and not uploading pictures fast enough so I gave up and canceled the rest of them!

we have not 1 picture of all 4 of us looking...EVER!

Since the new year we have gotten back to the grind of things.  Cami is back in school after the very long 2 week break!  She absolutely loves school and I always hear good reports from her teachers that she is doing well.  Actually, the other day one of her teachers informed me that "Cami is quite the ham in our class!" I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but I'm gonna go with it's good that she is funny and likes to entertain her friends.  I know every parent thinks that their child is the smartest kid but seriously, I'm amazed at the stuff that Cami says and comes up with. She has an amazing memory, she can remember stuff back when she was 1 year old!  She has one of the best vocabularies of any three year old I've seen.  And she is such a thinker!  Here is just an example of her thinking.  I had gone out with some friends the night before to a place that was quite loud.  I was telling Neal about how loud it was and that the DJ just kept turning the music up louder and louder to where my friends and I were practically yelling to hear each other.  Cut to a few hours later at dinner.  Cami was wondering what the sign for "run" in sign language is. Side note: we are teaching Noah a few baby signs so he can communicate his needs with us-therefore, Cami is interested in the signs as well.  As I was showing herthe proper sign I decided to explain why we have sign language for other people besides babies and we talked about deaf people.  After a minute of her thinking about all I had explained she said "So did you and your friends use sign language last night since you couldn't hear each other with the loud music?" Wow!  What three year old uses logic and reasoning like that?  Maybe I'm a little biased, but the kid is a genius :)
Ok, now lets update you on Noah!  His biggest achievement is he is crawling!  He is all over the place and I'm a little worn out with it!  We have learned to shut all the bedroom doors then he pretty much is safe to roam around.  Except he LOVES the dog bowls.  He has been caught soaking wet while playing in their water bowl and twice yesterday he tried to eat their food!  Oh goodness how hectic my life has become!  He is a very happy baby, except when he is teething-which seems to be more and more these days!  He loves to be tickled under the chin and neck area and will lay his head back so you can get to his neck easier to tickle him! He also loves to play peek-a-boo while he is on the changing table.  He will take his pants or clean diaper from us to put it over his face and waits until we say "where's Noah?" then he pulls it off his face and smiles big! So cute!  He no longer likes to eat baby food from a jar.  He loves to eat what we are eating.  Some of his favorites are grilled cheese, pasta with marinara sauce, all forms of meat, and all fruits.  He tolerates green beans, peas, carrots, and broccoli but only if he has other foods on his tray with it.  If you want to make him mad, put a few pieces of vegetables on his tray with nothing else and walk away.  Boy will he let you know you messed up! He also loves his sister very much and the feeling is mutual!  They are so sweet and cute together.  Now that he is sitting up and crawling he is so much easier to play with so Cami will bring his toys (or hers) to him and just sit with him and play. He smiles every time he sees her come in the room.  I love seeing my children that I love more than anything in the world, love each other!

As for me, I spend my days trying to keep up with these two crazy kids!  I love being a stay-at-home mom and not missing any minute of these first few years of their lives. It all goes by so quickly and I am so fortunate to be able to soak it all in and not miss any of it!  But, when I'm not soaking up all of their cuteness, I keep pretty busy with all the cleaning, cooking, laundry, to and from school chauffeuring, social event planning, etc!  Although, I have found a new addiction that also keeps me pretty entertained and it's called pinterest.  I am absolutely in love with this site!  I know I have been obsessed with sites before (blogger, facebook) but this is different!  This makes me want to be a better person.  It helps me to see what I can achieve and helps me go after these things.  But mostly, it's just a huge time killer!  I will get on this site and before I even realize it, hours will have passed by.  I have found many recipes, hair styles, homemade gift ideas, wonderful blogs, and lots and lots of activities to do with Cami! So, there you have it.  That's what we have all been up to lately.  Oh, I guess I forgot to include what Neal has been up to.  Working and shaving his head (don't ask!) is what he has been up to! :)

Thankful

I am a little behind on this, but I wanted to write about what I am most thankful for.  I feel so blessed to have such a happy life full of things to be thankful for ie: loving husband, 2 cute dogs, good health, great family that is close, all the material things etc, etc, etc.  But the two things that stand out the most are my children. Oh what an amazing gift I have been given to get to be a mother to these perfect kids!  They have taught me what really matters in life. They have helped me see the beauty in everyday things, helped me realize not to take everything so seriously, and most importantly shown me how to love unconditionally!  Cami and Noah, you have enriched our lives and I am forever thankful for you!!!

Trick-or-Treat!

This year was the first year that Cami got to actually choose what she was going to dress as for Halloween.  It was a pretty big decision for her-Cinderella? Ariel? Rapunzel? Sleeping Beauty?  Tinkerbell? So many choices!  Her first pick was Ariel, as this is her favorite movie and favorite princess. But, we own all the other princess costumes EXCEPT Ariel so I couldn't see spending money to buy a new one.  I know, horrible mother! So she decided on Tinkerbell (I did do a little bit of encouraging for this one--I just love the wings.  Too cute!)

We also went to a Trunk-or-Treat at Cami's school.  For this event she changed her mind and decided to be Rapunzel.  The whole Morgan clan (except Chris) came over for the fun Halloween festivities. Troy dressed as Incredible Hulk!

Oh yeah, and last but not least...the cutest part about this years Halloween-NOAH!  He decided to save his costume for the big day and just sported the pumpkin head look for the family get together.

Noah at 4 months

Some days I say to myself "4 months, already?" and other times it more like "wow, time is going by pre-tty slow!"  The later comment usually happens on the non-napping, non-sleeping at night kind of days.  But whatever the kind of day, Noah is a lovable, snugly, happy little baby.  He is getting more alert and aware of his surroundings which makes him have more of a little personality.  He has found his hands and loves to put them in his mouth.  He also loves blowing bubbles and raspberries with his mouth.
We started feeding him oatmeal cereal a couple of weeks ago and this boy loves to eat!  He opens his mouth and eats his baby food like a champ.  I always said I wasn't going to take pictures of my kids all messy with food all over themselves...gross, who wants to see that?  Well, you can just add that to the long list of "you don't know until you have kids" list...

Tummy time has always been a problem (with both kids, actually) and flat heads is always the result...but we are trying our best to keep him off his back as much as possible.  He doesn't look too unhappy here does he?

Oh, and just in case you were wondering, he is still a big baby.  At his 4 month check up he weighed 16 lbs which put him in the 72nd percentile and he was 27 inches long which is the 96th percentile!
