Thankful

I am a little behind on this, but I wanted to write about what I am most thankful for.  I feel so blessed to have such a happy life full of things to be thankful for ie: loving husband, 2 cute dogs, good health, great family that is close, all the material things etc, etc, etc.  But the two things that stand out the most are my children. Oh what an amazing gift I have been given to get to be a mother to these perfect kids!  They have taught me what really matters in life. They have helped me see the beauty in everyday things, helped me realize not to take everything so seriously, and most importantly shown me how to love unconditionally!  Cami and Noah, you have enriched our lives and I am forever thankful for you!!!

Trick-or-Treat!

This year was the first year that Cami got to actually choose what she was going to dress as for Halloween.  It was a pretty big decision for her-Cinderella? Ariel? Rapunzel? Sleeping Beauty?  Tinkerbell? So many choices!  Her first pick was Ariel, as this is her favorite movie and favorite princess. But, we own all the other princess costumes EXCEPT Ariel so I couldn't see spending money to buy a new one.  I know, horrible mother! So she decided on Tinkerbell (I did do a little bit of encouraging for this one--I just love the wings.  Too cute!)

We also went to a Trunk-or-Treat at Cami's school.  For this event she changed her mind and decided to be Rapunzel.  The whole Morgan clan (except Chris) came over for the fun Halloween festivities. Troy dressed as Incredible Hulk!

Oh yeah, and last but not least...the cutest part about this years Halloween-NOAH!  He decided to save his costume for the big day and just sported the pumpkin head look for the family get together.
The cutest little fuzzy puppy dog I've ever seen!

Noah at 4 months

Some days I say to myself "4 months, already?" and other times it more like "wow, time is going by pre-tty slow!"  The later comment usually happens on the non-napping, non-sleeping at night kind of days.  But whatever the kind of day, Noah is a lovable, snugly, happy little baby.  He is getting more alert and aware of his surroundings which makes him have more of a little personality.  He has found his hands and loves to put them in his mouth.  He also loves blowing bubbles and raspberries with his mouth.
We started feeding him oatmeal cereal a couple of weeks ago and this boy loves to eat!  He opens his mouth and eats his baby food like a champ.  I always said I wasn't going to take pictures of my kids all messy with food all over themselves...gross, who wants to see that?  Well, you can just add that to the long list of "you don't know until you have kids" list...

Tummy time has always been a problem (with both kids, actually) and flat heads is always the result...but we are trying our best to keep him off his back as much as possible.  He doesn't look too unhappy here does he?

Oh, and just in case you were wondering, he is still a big baby.  At his 4 month check up he weighed 16 lbs which put him in the 72nd percentile and he was 27 inches long which is the 96th percentile!

Back to school

Cami started back to school last week at a new preschool.  She goes 3 days a week from 9:00-2:00.  She is absolutely loving it!  After being at home all summer long, I think she would be happy wherever she went!  Here are some pictures of her first day of school...

I had this wonderful idea to take a picture of her on the way to school and then on the way home from school.  That way you could see how excited she was going to school vs how tired she was coming home from school.  Well, that didn't work out--she has the same enthusiasm in each picture!  She was way too wound up to be sleepy on the way home!

3 Months Old

Noah turned 3 months old this week!  He is changing and growing so fast. We haven't been to the doctor in the past month so I don't know how much he weighs, but I'm guessing it's around 15 pounds!  Cami didn't weigh 15 pounds until she was 5 months old.  Everyone tells me boys are just bigger, and I guess they are right!  Noah is becoming more and more alert and aware of things, which makes him so much fun!  He is a very happy and smiley little boy. He loves warm baths, swaddled sleeping, and hanging out in his swing.  He has a pretty bad case of eczema on his face, ears, and scalp which we are treating with lots of lotion and cream.  Poor baby seems so uncomfortable.  He is not quite sleeping through he night, but most nights he sleeps 8 hours straight before waking for a bottle and then right back to bed.  He wakes every morning happy, smiling, and cooing...LOVE IT!!!

Texas Heat

Wow! This summer has been brutal! We have had way too many days of 100 degrees or higher. We are all so done with this summer, but it just keeps on and on and on...enough already! So thanks to the scorching weather outside we have had to stay inside most of the summer. So here are the top 8 things we have done to keep ourselves entertained this summer. In no particular order:

Number 1: Playing with the dogs. And when I say playing, I mean getting in their face, laying on them, pulling their tail, poking at their eyes, laying toys on them, you know...playing!

Number 2: Playing with Noah. And when I say playing, I mean getting in his bed, getting in his face, grabbing his hands, and laying toys on him.

Number 3: Art. Cami loves art. She has gotten extremely good at cutting with scissors, but she also enjoys painting, drawing, and making pictures with a million stickers! Number 4: Playing on the computer. This is a new skill that Cami has learned. She now knows how to use the mouse correctly (thanks to Grammy!) and can play a handful of children's computer games. She's really quite good at them, too! Number 5: Eating watermelon. It just wouldn't be summertime without watermelon around! Number 6: Eating Popsicles. Same can be said about Popsicles!
Molly and Maddie like to enjoy a Popsicle, too, sometimes!
Number 7: Playing dress-up. Oh, the joys of having a little girl. It's so fun to watch her be so girly! She loves to wear pretty dresses, sparkly shoes, fancy bows, make up, nail polish, jewelry, etc, etc!
She's very versatile, though. Not only can she dress as a princess but if you ever need a strawberry glasses wearing doctor, Cami is your girl!
Number 8: Swimming! Thank goodness Grammy and Papaw have a pool! We go over there at least once a week to take a dip in the pool to cool off. This summer Cami has been learning how to swim underwater and jump off the side to an adult. She is a very cautious little girl, so jumping off the side has been quite the challenge, but she's getting there!
